O

Orbital Station represents a flagship deployment in our operational streaming portfolio. This project required the full breadth of Live Ops infrastructure, from initial telemetry calibration through production-grade multi-cam delivery. Our team engineered custom overlay systems and real-time data pipelines to meet the demanding requirements of live simulation broadcasting.

Working with a distributed operations crew, we delivered consistent sub-15ms latency across all viewer endpoints while maintaining broadcast-quality visual fidelity. The deployment showcased our ability to scale infrastructure dynamically, handling peak concurrent viewer loads without degradation to stream quality or telemetry accuracy.

Technical Setup

The infrastructure backbone consisted of redundant ingest servers distributed across three geographic regions, feeding into a centralized encoding cluster. Custom FPGA-accelerated encoders handled real-time overlay compositing, merging telemetry data streams with multi-angle camera feeds at native resolution. The entire pipeline was monitored through our proprietary operations dashboard with automated failover protocols.

Streaming Approach

We deployed an adaptive bitrate ladder optimized for simulation content, prioritizing HUD legibility and telemetry overlay clarity across all quality tiers. The production workflow incorporated automated camera switching driven by event detection algorithms, ensuring viewers always had sight of critical operational moments. Commentary and squad comms were mixed in real-time through our audio routing matrix.

Results & Impact

The deployment exceeded all target KPIs, achieving sustained uptime above 99.8% across the full operational window. Peak concurrent viewership surpassed projections by 40%, validating the scalability of our infrastructure approach. Post-event analytics revealed a 3.2x increase in average watch time compared to standard simulation broadcasts, attributed to the enhanced telemetry overlay and multi-cam production value.
